What do you know about Cinco de Mayo?

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5th to commemorate the Mexican Arm's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  Here in the U.S. the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture.  Cinco de Mayo is often times mistaken for Mexico's Independence Day, however Mexican Independence Day is actually September 16th.

The United States has embraced this holiday as a time to celebrate Mexican-American culture and also, a reason to indulge in Mexican food, beer, tequila and margaritas.  Put up some decorations, invite friends and family over and have a Mexican fiesta.  ¿Por qué no?  Looking for some yummy recipe ideas for your Cinco de Mayo party?   Tacos always top the list but who doesn't love the jalapeno popper, guacamole & chips or quesadillas?  Looking to put a spin on your summer margaritas?  Try this Watermelon Margarita for a refreshing summer adult beverage.  It's so simple - only 3 ingredients!
